Biography
Oliver Morgan is currently the Head of Performance Support at Leicester City Football Club Academy. In this role, he leads the sports science, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and performance analysis teams. Oliver started his career at Coventry City FC in 2009 whilst completing his undergraduate degree in sport and exercise sciences at The University of Birmingham. He completed a master’s degree in talent identification at Coventry University and moved to Liverpool Football Club to become an academy sports scientist in 2011. He spent eight seasons at LFC, mostly as a rehabilitation sports scientist, before moving to Glasgow for three years to become Head of Academy Sport Science at Celtic Football Club. He moved to Leicester to take up his current role in December 2021. Oliver is completing a professional doctorate at Liverpool John Mores University investigating the change of direction demands of elite youth football. Oliver is an accredited and chartered sports scientist as well as a supervisor and reviewer to the BASES supervised experience accreditation process. His published research includes talent identification, pitch conditioning methodologies and change of direction demands.
